Ted Nugent Pleads Guilty to Illegally Killing Black Bear

Ted Nugent is no stranger to controversy. As of late “Uncle Ted” has been visited by the U.S. Secret Service for comments at the NRA Meetings in April and now he’s pleaded guilty to a Bear hunting incident in Alaska.  Here’s the interview he gave Glen Beck the other day.

Freedom Group Announces George Kollitides as New Chief Executive Officer

Freedom Group, Inc. (FGI) has announced George Kollitides as its Chief Executive Officer. Kollitides, a lifelong hunter, shooter and firearms enthusiast, had been serving since March as Acting CEO of FGI, the firearms industry powerhouse with brands including Remington Arms, Bushmaster, DPMS and Marlin, among others.

Why the Castle Doctrine is Important

Gun control advocates would have you believe that the right to defend yourself is just a cowardly act to allow everyone to carry a firearm. They want to tell you that only police officers should carry firearms, and they can be there to protect you.  They feel that if you or someone you love gets [...]

Veterans Day 2011 In Geneseo, Illinois

Every year, Veterans Day is much the same in Geneseo: the volunteers gather before dawn to unfurl and set up hundreds of flags in the city park. Each flag honors a veteran from this tiny town. The number of flags grows every year. How can there be so many in such a small place?

    Hunting In The Cold

The one trait about hunting season I normally dislike is, the cold. Being up in the tree stand, or sitting down below on the cold ground, just isn’t my idea of fun.  Having to wear a bulky gear that is restrictive just isn’t an option.  I was excited when I learned that Columbia released a [...]

Why the Castle Doctrine is Important

Gun control advocates would have you believe that the right to defend yourself is just a cowardly act to allow everyone to carry a firearm. They want to tell you that only police officers should carry firearms, and they can be there to protect you.  They feel that if you or someone you love gets hurt it’s okay, because you didn’t respond back in a violent way.  I have news for those gun-control bureaucrats; gun control doesn’t work, wake up and look at the facts!  American’s don’t want the right to keep and bear arms to harm the ones they love; Americans want the tools to PROTECT their families! Jay Lewis’ life was interrupted because his local laws don’t respect his rights to protect himself and his property. This is a brief summary of what happened that late Saturday October night.

It seems that Freedom Arms is buying as many gun manufactures as possible these days.  It’s becoming to find a company that has anything worthwhile to offer the public not being courted by Freedom Arms, Inc.  In their most recent acquisition the have purchased Para USA, based in Pineville, North Carolina. Para has become one of the industry’s finest 1911 manufacture.  Para was started in 1985, and became extremel popular with their double stack frame, and their trademarked light double action trigger systems.

It should be interesting to see how Freedom Arms uses the new company in their collection of large and noteworthy companies.

Deer hunting is a past time favorite for so many.  However, using more advanced rifles has some hunters concerned.

Groupon Anti-Gun?

Groupon has gained worldwide attention for being able to offer local deals for about 50% of the normal price.  This seems like a great opportunity for a local business to make some quick cash, but there have been many reporting that it has caused the businesses to actually lose money to the “Groupon Affect”.  Some even claim it being the reason for the business had to close its doors. Although that alone should cause concern when supporting such a site, here comes the next strike against them.  They are simply anti-firearm.  They refuse to do any business with the National Rifle Association, or any firearm business.  You could suppose this is to not cause any ruffling of feathers, but I believe it has causing a ground movement to be against Groupon.

Here are a few alternatives to Pro-Firearm deal sites that stand behind the 2nd Amendment, and more importantly morals while doing business.

GearHog – They offer a daily deal usually at 50% of the normal cost, and every Sunday has a giveaway that is free to enter.  Highly recommended.

SlickGuns – A culmination of the entire great firearm deals on the Internet.  If you are looking for a firearm, I suggest searching here first.

Preparing Your ATV for Hunting Season

Recently I was introduced to ATV riding for recreational use.  It was quite a bit of fun, and exhilarating.  I was lucky enough to be introduced to ATV riding at a park close to the Air Force base in Goldsboro, NC.  The trails were amazing, the on-site mechanic, helped my buddy fix a small problem before riding and we were set.  I had never really gone off-roading unless you count going 4x4ing in the sands at the beach going off road.  After seeing the ATV I was riding go through mud pits, climb giant dunes, and just cruise along on the paths, I saw great potential taking an ATV hunting in the middle of great farm land I plan to hit up in a few weeks.  Before I just run off with the ATV I had purchased, there are a few tweaks I need to do, just for the hunting part of things.
