Does anyone have any other good hollow point suggestions? I've shot the Silver Bear HPs, and while they shoot good and are reliable, they don't seem to be a good quality HP worthy of defending my life.

How bout the Corbon Pow'r Balls or Hornady Critical Defense? Price differences are negligible.

I have emailed and called several local gunsmiths recently trying to get someone to agree to check over an old Enfield I have. I really just want it checked to make sure it is safe to fire. But I can't even get a call or email back to just say, "Kiss off." I really don't want to pay to ship it off to a gunsmith, nor do I really want to go through the hassle of doing this. I really wanted to throw my money at a local gunsmith. But what is the deal with them never contacting you back? Or is it just me?

I was looking for some load information for the 300BLK I'm eventually going to get put together and came across this site 300 AAC BLACKOUT (300BLK)

It has some good links in it, and seems very straightforward about the strengths and weaknesses of the round. For those considering the BLK, I recommend it.

One thought came to me while reading about 9" barrels with this round - for those into AR pistols, this thing could be pretty awesome. The SBR/suppressor thing is a little different, but there are some who like AR pistols although I don't.

The favored powder seems to be H110 for supersonic loads. I'd like to find some loads using Varget since I have a fair amount of that on hand, but haven't found any. The website above pretty well explains why the powder selection is rather narrow - it has to do with the really reduced powder capacity and the need to cycle the action properly.

It's a short but good read on the main link. Check it out.

I finally have everything on the way. The back ordered NO GO gauge is coming, the charging handle is coming, and I ordered some degreaser/cleaner to use before I hit the parts with KG Gunkote.

After much research and head scratching, I ordered a Badger 350 airbrush kit with the medium tip, two jars, and hose. It's a single action, so I'll probably be able to keep it cleaner than the DA types, and it should handle the heavier epoxy based Gunkote pretty well. I went through Amazon to TCP and got the airbrush for around $33.

I found that Brownell's either does not want to sell their airbrush very badly or they make a huge profit on them. The very same brush kit they market for about $90 can be found for less than half that without much trouble. This is the Paasche H model.

Also, if anyone is thinking about getting into airbrushes, I suggest you find the site "Don's Airbrush Tips", by Don Wheeler. He says he's a retired engineer, and I kind of wonder if he's the guy behind Wheeler Engineering, maker of some very nice gun related tools.

I stopped in this afternoon for a look around, and walked out with a nice looking 91/30, hex receiver dated 1935, for $149. Matching numbers! I couldn't see the bore-- it was plugged solid with cosmoline.

There were three interesting looking Yugo pistols also, just out of the crate and as yet unpriced. Chambered for 7.62x25 if I remember; might be M57's but I couldn't get a close look. Gotta google these babies before I decide if I'm interested. But hey, who doesn't need another pistol? :D

Anyone in the area who's interested, he's got a few more hexes and a whole bunch of round recievers left. (Lucky for you, I only bought one. :)) Plus the usual complement of SKS's of course. (Mausers? what are those?)

Army Specialist Leslie Sabo Jr. was finally awarded posthumously the Medal of Honor over 40 years later.

Less than a month after proposing to his fiance he was drafted. He was a European immigrant who's family had fled the Soviet/communist take over.

He ended up in the 101st Airborne and in 1970 was on a classified mission operating in Cambodia to try to prevent North Vietnamese forces from cutting through there into southern Vietnam. His unit was ambushed by a much larger force.

The 22-year-old rifleman from Ellwood City, Pa., charged the enemy position, killing several soldiers, and then attacked an enemy flanking force, drawing fire away from his comrades.

As the enemy retreated, a grenade landed near Sabo and a wounded American soldier. Sabo picked it up and threw it, while shielding his comrade with his own body. The grenade blast badly injured Sabo, but he continued to charge the bunker.

Crawling toward the enemy stronghold, Sabo was shot multiple times by automatic weapons fire. When he managed to reach the opening of the bunker, he tossed in a grenade, silencing all enemy fire. That same grenade also ended Sabo's life.

His wife realized something terrible had happened when she stopped getting her regular letters from him. She was not told of his death until later and then she was she was told a false story that he had been killed by a sniper while guarding an ammo dump (probably because we were not "officially" supposed to be fighting in Cambodia).

His real story and file was "lost" until 1999 when someone found it and had been trying to bring his story to light since now when he was finally awarded the Medal of Honor.

So Hats of to him. Much respect to him his unit, and all the other Vets of the Vietnam Conflict!
I did find out that the M/N 91/59 shoots pretty much to point of aim as does the latest 91/30 that I purchased. Both feed, extract, and eject just fine with some surplus Bulgarian and Russian light ball. I also put a few rounds thru one of my Turk Mausers that had been pretty inconsistent about igniting primers. I recently got a firing pin spring from Lee's Gun Shop in Irving, Tx for it, and that seems to have fixed the problem. Only had 1 failure to fire out of 80 rounds of 1954 surplus ammo. (yugo i believe) I had several new AR magazines that I wanted to function test and wanted to shoot my Savage 93F some more, but due to all the people wanting to shoot I left pretty early.
